New Poll: Overwhelming Majority of Americans Support Congress Passing Stricter Code of Ethics for the Supreme Court, Investigating Corruption

WASHINGTON, DC— A new poll released Tuesday shows that even after learning that the Supreme Court has instituted a ‘code of ethics’ for itself, the overwhelming majority of Americans support Congress passing tougher ethics rules and investigating ties between justices and political megadonors.

The poll, conducted by YouGov on behalf of Demand Justice, found that 74% of voters say “Congress should pass a stricter code of ethics for the Supreme Court that does not leave the justices to police themselves, and Congress should investigate the ties between justices and political mega donors.” The position is bipartisan, with support of 90% of Democrats, 70% of Independents, and 57% of Republicans.
