Judiciary Act Update: Reps. Cicilline, Desaulnier, Gomez Join as Cosponsor

JUDICIARY ACT UPDATE: REPS. CICILLINE, DESAULNIER, GOMEZ JOIN AS COSPONSOR

Reps. David Cicilline (D-RI), Mark DeSaulnier (D-CA), and Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) will co-sponsor the Judiciary Act of 2021, which would add four seats to the Supreme Court. Rep. Cicilline serves as Chair of the Congressional LGBTQ+ Equality Caucus and a Vice-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. 

In the House, 57 members have announced support for the Judiciary Act, which was introduced by Rep. Hank Johnson, Chair of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts.  In the Senate, the bill is supported by Sens. Ed Markey, Tina Smith, and Elizabeth Warren.
