STATEMENT FROM DEMAND JUSTICE PRESIDENT JOSH ORTON ON 6 DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS MEMBERS’ DANGEROUS VOTE TO CONFIRM YET ANOTHER TRUMP JUDGE
Washington, DC – Today, Senators Durbin, Hassan, Kaine, King, Peters, and Schiff helped Republicans confirm Bill Lewis, another crony Trump judicial nominee who refused to tell the truth about the 2020 election and January 6th.
Earlier this month, Demand Justice launched a six-figure ad campaign calling out key Senators for their inexcusable votes to advance Trump’s judicial nominees–-all of whom have demonstrated political loyalty to Trump by refusing to say that he lost the 2020 election, or tell the truth about what actually occurred on January 6th.
In response, Demand Justice President Josh Orton released the following statement:
“Unlike his first term, Trump is now hand-picking judges based on political loyalty, forcing nominees to spread his lies about the 2020 election and January 6th as a litmus test. So long as Trump attacks our legal system and exploits it for his own power, there is absolutely no excuse for Democrats to enable Trump by voting for judges Trump believes will rubber stamp his unconstitutional and illegal actions. There are simply no moral “yes” votes for Trump judicial nominees.”
