Rep. Ayanna Pressley to Join Activists and Survivors at Sunday Rally as Supreme Court Agrees to Consider Abortion Rights Case
WASHINGTON, DC—On Sunday, October 6 at 1pm ET, U.S. Representative Ayanna Pressley will join Demand Justice, Women’s March, Center for Popular Democracy Action and dozens of progressive organizations at a rally at the Supreme Court to demonstrate that the sham confirmation process for Justice Brett Kavanaugh has not been forgotten. The urgency of this call to action has been magnified by the Supreme Court’s announcement this morning that it will consider whether to overturn precedent and uphold an extreme Louisiana abortion law.
Rep. Pressley has led the charge to hold Justice Kavanaugh accountable, introducing a resolution calling for an impeachment inquiry into Kavanaugh in response to the latest evidence that the FBI did not thoroughly investigate the credible sexual assault allegations against him.
Sunday marks the one-year anniversary of Kavanaugh’s controversial confirmation, which was marred by a rushed hearing process, hidden documents, credible allegations of sexual assault leveled against Kavanaugh, and a sham FBI investigation into those allegations. Over the past year, Kavanaugh has joined with his fellow Republicans on the Court to rubber-stamp President Donald Trump’s extreme right-wing agenda. The Supreme Court is broken, and this cannot be allowed to continue.
