NEW DEMAND JUSTICE AD FEATURES KAVANAUGH’S COLLEGE FRIENDS ACCUSING HIM OF LYING UNDER OATH
New Demand Justice Digital Ad Running in Maine, Alaska and Arizona
WASHINGTON, DC—On Thursday, Demand Justice released a new digital ad featuring clips of Brett Kavanaugh’s college friends and classmates speaking out about the false statements he made during his testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The spot plays clips of four of Kavanaugh’s college classmates – Chad Ludington, Lynne Brookes, Liz Swisher and James Roche – asserting that Kavanaugh lied under oath about his drinking habits in college during his Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last Thursday.
The ad will run in Maine, Alaska and Arizona, targeting undecided Republican Senators Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Jeff Flake, respectively, as the confirmation vote on Kavanaugh looms.
A transcript of the ad, entitled “Liar,” appears below.
TRANSCRIPT OF “LIAR”
VOICEOVER: They say a man’s only as good as his word. But Brett Kavanaugh hasn’t been telling the truth.
Even his friends – some who’ve known him for 30 years – say they think he’s lying.
CLIP OF CHAD LUDINGTON: Brett has not told the truth.
AUDIO OF LYNNE BROOKES: He was lying to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
CLIP OF LIZ SWISHER: He was clearly lying, and it was incredibly disturbing to see somebody perjuring themselves who’s in line to be a Supreme Court justice.
CLIP OF JAMES ROCHE: Not only did I know that he wasn’t telling the truth, I knew that he knew he wasn’t telling the truth.
VOICEOVER: If Kavanaugh’s own friends don’t think he has the integrity to serve on the Supreme Court, why should we?
