Trump’s Newest Pick for the Second Circuit is the ‘Seb Gorka of Judicial Nominees’

WASHINGTON, DC—Demand Justice Executive Director Brian Fallon released the following statement Friday calling for the withdrawal of the nomination of Steven Menashi to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit:

“This is not a fire drill: Donald Trump has nominated an advocate of ‘ethnonationalism’ for a lifetime appointment to the federal bench. The timing of this nomination, coming amid a rise in domestic terrorism incidents inspired by Trump’s racist rhetoric, could not be more disturbing.

“Steven Menashi appears to be the Seb Gorka of judicial nominees. He is unfit for the federal bench. The Trump administration should withdraw this nomination immediately. If Trump sticks by Menashi, Democrats must go to the mat to oppose him.”
