NEW REPORT Reveals Trump’s Election-Denying Judges Preside Over Nearly All Competitive Midterm Races – as Trump Administration Moves to Preemptively Challenge Alaska Results
As the Trump Administration Already Begins to Challenge the Midterm Election Results, Judges Who Refused Under Oath to Admit He Lost in 2020 Could Hear the Cases
WASHINGTON, D.C. — As the Trump Administration already begins to challenge the midterm election results in Alaska, today, Demand Justice released a new report which reveals for the first time that 53 out of the 60 battleground races in the midterm elections fall under the jurisdiction of at least one Trump-appointed federal judge who, under oath, refused to admit Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. The report finds 29 battleground races now have one of these judges on the district court with jurisdiction, while 38 of them could face a Trump II judge on appeal.
As a result, in battleground states across the country, whether in Texas, Maine, Michigan, or Iowa, when the Trump Administration challenges the results of a U.S. Senate or House race, the cases could be reviewed by a judge who has engaged in election denial to curry favor with Trump.
“Trump’s attempt to interfere in Alaska’s Senate race is a wake-up call: his administration will not accept election results unless the Republicans win,” said Demand Justice President Josh Orton. “If these judges couldn’t tell the truth about 2020, we can’t count on them to do so in 2026. We must vote in numbers so overwhelming that no Trump judge could deny the truth.”
Last November, Demand Justice first identified the troubling pattern of dishonesty and evasion among Trump’s second-term federal judicial nominees.
