JUDICIARY ACT UPDATE: REPS. CLEAVER, DAVIS, RUSH JOIN BILL TO EXPAND THE COURT

Reps. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO), Danny Davis (D-IL), and Bobby Rush (D-IL) have co-sponsored the Judiciary Act of 2021, which would add four seats to the Supreme Court.

The bill now has 43 co-sponsors in the House. Eighteen members have joined as co-sponsors since June. In the Senate, the bill was introduced by Sens. Ed Markey (D-MA) and is supported by Sen. Tina Smith (D-MN).

Reps. Cleaver and Rush joined the bill shortly after meetings with Demand Justice volunteers in their district, following several other members who have signed on following constituent meetings organized by Demand Justice.
