ICYMI: Tapper Calls Out Trump’s Judicial Loyalty Test
WASHINGTON, D.C. — CNN’s Jake Tapper this week ran a segment zeroing in on the exact pattern Demand Justice has been documenting in its report, A Pattern of Dishonesty and Evasion — which found that when asked, so far all 40 of Trump’s second-term judicial nominees gave dishonest or misleading answers about the 2020 election and January 6.
Tapper highlighted that Trump’s nominees to both circuit and district courts have consistently refused to answer “a pretty simple question” — whether Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. He went further, arguing that a nominee’s “refusal to acknowledge facts that Donald Trump hates” may itself be “disqualifying” for the federal bench.
The nominees who went before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week were no exception — and the same loyalty test will define Trump’s next Supreme Court pick.
