DEMAND JUSTICE STATEMENT FOLLOWING TRUMP SAYING HE NEEDS NEW SUPREME COURT JUSTICE SEATED TO DECIDE 2020 ELECTION

WASHINGTON, DC— Following Donald Trump’s remarks that he hopes to install a new Supreme Court justice before the election in order to help decide election-related litigation, Demand Justice Executive Director Brian Fallon issued the following statement:

“Donald Trump isn’t just trying to steal a Supreme Court seat — he’s trying to steal the election along with it. Even though Republicans may claim to already have the votes to confirm Trump’s pick, Democrats cannot afford to compartmentalize this Supreme Court fight because the fate of the election itself may ride on it.”
