Demand Justice Statement on Release of Whitehouse Federalist Society Oversight Letters

WASHINGTON, DC—Demand Justice Chief Counsel Christopher Kang released the following statement Wednesday in response to Senator Whitehouse announcing oversight letters demanding details about Leonard Leo’s role at the White House:

“By letting Leonard Leo continue to cash checks from big money donors while handpicking our country’s judges, Donald Trump has put a for sale sign on our courts. As its coordinated campaign to derail a commonsense ethics rule makes clear, the Federalist Society has amassed unprecedented and unacceptable control over our federal judiciary.

“Senate Democrats are right to shine a light on the Federalist Society’s corruption and put Leonard Leo and the White House on notice that they won’t be allowed to sell off our courts to corporate donors without consequence.”
