DEMAND JUSTICE STATEMENT ON JUSTICE ALITO’S ADDRESS TO THE FEDERALIST SOCIETY

WASHINGTON, DC— Following Justice Samuel Alito’s partisan address to the Federalist Society, Demand Justice Executive Director Brian Fallon released the following statement:

“Justice Alito’s partisan speech should serve as a wakeup call for any Democrat who does not yet understand that the Roberts Court has become just another arm of Donald Trump’s Republican Party. Alito’s speech was better suited for the Republican National Convention than a so-called legal debating society. We have two choices: we can allow Justice Alito and his Republican-appointed colleagues to continue to put partisan hackery above the rule of law, or we can pursue structural reform of the Supreme Court to restore its legitimacy.”
