DEMAND JUSTICE STATEMENT ON BIDEN JUDICIAL NOMINEES

WASHINGTON, DC— Following news that President Biden will nominate 10 additional federal district court judges, Demand Justice Chief Counsel Christopher Kang released the following statement:

“This set of nominations builds on President Biden’s already historic commitment to nominating civil rights lawyers and public defenders to the federal bench.”

“ACLU Voting Rights Project Director Dale Ho’s nomination perfectly encapsulates President Biden and Leader Schumer’s shared commitment to prioritizing public interest lawyers for the federal bench. Ho has argued many of the most important democracy protection cases of the last decade, and his deep experience in protecting voting rights for everyone is exactly what is needed right now.”

Today’s nominees include 4 former public defenders, bringing the total number of former public defenders nominated to federal judgeships by President Biden to 17.
