WASHINGTON, DC— On Wednesday, Demand Justice PAC congratulated eight new Representatives-elect who support The Judiciary Act to expand the Supreme Court.

Court expansion champions supported by Demand Justice PAC include Reps-elect Becca Balint (VT-AL), Greg Casar (TX-35), Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), Maxwell Frost (FL-10), Sydney Kamlager (CA-37), Summer Lee (PA-12), Delia Ramirez (IL-3), and Jill Tokuda (HI-2).

Demand Justice PAC President Brian Fallon said: “These incoming representatives are leaders of a rising generation of Democrats who understand the existential threat posed by the Republican Supreme Court supermajority. We look forward to working with them to build support for reforming the Court, which is a vital aspect of any plan to protect abortion rights and democracy and to address gun violence and climate change in the long run.”

Across the country, voters delivered a strong rebuke of the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade. According to NBC exit polls, 61% of voters said they were “dissatisfied or angry” with the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade, and voters in several states sided with abortion rights when voting on ballot initiatives.

Voters also indicated deep concern about Republican attacks on democracy, with AP polling finding “the survival of democracy … weighed heavily on voters’ minds” and results showing “candidates for key posts in battleground states who support former President Trump’s unfounded claims of election fraud in 2020… rack[ed] up defeats.”
