DEMAND JUSTICE LAUNCHES BILLBOARD AD CAMPAIGN THANKING SENS. JON OSSOFF AND RAPHAEL WARNOCK
WASHINGTON, DC—On Wednesday, Demand Justice announced a billboard ad campaign in Georgia thanking Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock for recommending Victoria Calvert and Sarah Geraghty to President Biden, who recently nominated them to the federal bench in Georgia.
“These nominations mark a new day for Georgia’s federal courts,” said Demand Justice Chief Counsel Christopher Kang. “Senators Ossoff and Warnock’s first recommendations show their deep commitment to justice and equality and embody President Biden’s vision to rebalance and diversify our courts. Victoria Calvert and Sarah Geraghty’s public defense and civil rights experience will help bring balance to a bench dominated by former prosecutors and corporate lawyers.”
Victoria Calvert is a Staff Attorney at the Federal Defender Program, and if confirmed, she would be the first former federal defender to become a district court judge in Georgia. Sarah Geraghty is Senior Counsel at the Southern Center for Human Rights and previously was a Staff Attorney with the Office of the Appellate Defender in New York.
