New buy is on top of Demand Justice’s existing six-figure ad buy announced on Sunday, which is calling out Sens. Durbin and Coons for voting to advance Trump judicial nominees.

Washington, DC –Today, Demand Justice announced a new digital and billboard advertising campaign in Minnesota and Rhode Island calling out Senators Klobuchar and Whitehouse for their votes to advance Trump’s politically compromised judicial nominees. These nominees–like all of Trump’s judicial nominees–have given loyalty oaths to the President himself by refusing to tell the truth about the 2020 election and what happened on January 6th, 2021.

This new ad buy escalates the accountability campaign, bolstering the existing six-figure buy Demand Justice President Josh Orton announced on MSNBC in Illinois and Delaware over the weekend, which calls out Sens. Durbin and Coons for their votes to advance Trump nominees.

During a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting this morning, Senators Durbin, Coons, Hirono, Klobuchar, and Whitehouse all voted to advance the nomination of at least one of Trump’s judicial nominees. Sens. Durbin, Klobuchar, and Whitehouse voted for multiple nominees. These votes come just a week after Senators Durbin, Coons, Klobuchar, Schiff, Welch, and Whitehouse voted to advance at least one Trump judicial nominee.

“At a time when Donald Trump is weaponizing the Department of Justice to launch revenge prosecutions of his political enemies, Senate Democrats cannot bow to Trump by confirming his judges. Demand Justice is going to continue holding Democratic Senators accountable until they do everything they can to stand up to Trump’s attack on the rule of law” said Demand Justice President Josh Orton. “This is not difficult: no nominee who peddles lies about January 6th and the 2020 election is fit for a lifetime position on the federal bench, period. Continuing to vote for Trump’s nominees normalizes Trump’s authoritarianism, and if Democratic Senators won’t stand up to Trump, we will call them out.”

The ads will run in Minnesota and Rhode Island. A copy of the ads can be viewed here and here.
