The Federalist Society is going all in on its campaign to honor Brett Kavanaugh, a man credibly accused of sexual assault. Last year, at their annual convention dinner, they gave him a standing ovation fewer than 50 days after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testified before Congress that he had assaulted her. At this year’s dinner, they honored him with the prime speaking slot and another standing ovation.
They’re trying to normalize Brett Kavanaugh. To make us forget that one of the most powerful judges in the country has been credibly accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
Facebook was one of the top donors to the Federalist Society’s 2019 convention, giving money and credibility to this celebration of Kavanaugh and attack on the dignity of survivors. Facebook was a “Gold Circle” sponsor, one of only ten and the only big tech sponsor.
Facebook is making plain that it values the pro-corporate rulings of judges who come through the Federalist Society pipeline over the stories of survivors. This is a slap in the face to millions of Americans across the country. And it must end.
Sign our petition below and tell Facebook to stop contributing to the erasure of sexual assault survivors. Tell them we still believe Dr. Ford, and we won’t forget what Brett Kavanaugh did.
